PhD by Design conference 2017

The third edition of the student conference PhD by Design will take place in Sheffield, my home university, from April 3rd-4th 2017. Topic of this year’s conference is about how ‘the notion of self as a researcher has been assumed and embodied in practice-based research’. Together with around 60 students from different countries and universities, we will seek to engage with these different narratives. There will be ‘messy introductions’ of everyone’s research (1 image, 1 min./each), plenty of discussions, plenary presentations from designers, artists and academics, and some ‘provocative activities’ as well. I will also take part to talk about my research, in particular about the shifting identities as expert and citizen when engaging with neighbourhoods in eco-social design.
