Gift shelf – Schenkschrank
I like how the shelf is very ordered in one part, and the rest is a mess. Traces of human beings leaving things there neatly, and others rummaging through them on their search for something they might like. There is such an abundance of clothes on the streets, mostly in gift boxes or just in plastic bags, or even scattered on the pavement. You rarely see an infrastructure like this one, where clothes are protected from the weather and it actually becomes more clear that they are to give-away, not just trash. It brings something very private to the streets – a wardrobe, usually closed and hidden aways in a bedroom, to open up new imaginaries of how we could share, distribute and receive the things we need.
